located an hour’s flight from the capital, Warsaw. Wroclaw, a Polish fairy tale town Wroclaw is located in the city of Wroclaw.
The city is still not well known in Japan, but it was actually named “Destination of the Year” by a popular European travel website every year. What a popular city that was chosen as the number one destination in 2018!
The colorful buildings and dwarfs throughout the city make you feel as if you are in a picture book.
Group tours from Japan tend to do day trips, but that’s just a waste of time!
Looking for dwarfs, strolling along the river, visiting cafes, etc.
I hope you will stay one night and enjoy it at your leisure ^^.
This time, I will be visiting
Based on my experience when I visited Wroclaw, I have put together a 2-day/1-night itinerary for first-time visitors to Wroclaw.
I would be happy to help you with your trip ^^.
When choosing a hotel in Wroclaw, location matters!
Wroclaw is a collection of attractions.
Therefore, it is recommended that you stay at a hotel that is located in the middle of a
Staying at a hotel in the middle of a tourist area is convenient because all of the tourist attractions are within walking distance.
Prices in Poland are much lower than in Europe, so you can stay in a well-located and well-equipped hotel at a reasonable price.
I also recommend the Sofitel where I stayed before.

Wroclaw Sightseeing Day 1: Dwarf Hunt & Old Town Sightseeing
Speaking of Wroclaw, dwarf!
There are more than 300 in the city of Wroclaw and the number continues to grow each year.
I heard that the exact number cannot be confirmed even by the city ^^;
If you find a dwarf tucked away on the side of the road, you are sure to get excited ^^.
Dwarf maps are also sold at tourist information centers.
With a map in hand, you can search for the dwarfs and feel like you’re on a little expedition.
While looking for the dwarfs, also check out the main tourist attractions ^^.
[Why are there so many dwarfs in Wroclaw?
The dwarf was a symbol of the anti-Communist movement of the 1980s.
In 2001, a dwarf called “Papa Dwarf” was installed in this city that has become a democracy over time.
Since then, the number of dwarfs has continued to grow and become a tourist attraction.
Old Town Square / Salt Square Rynek / Plac Solny
It is the best tourist attraction in Wroclaw.
So cute, all those colorful buildings lining the plaza!
You can take a stroll while looking at the cityscape, or go into one of the cafes or restaurants around the square.
Incidentally, it is also an area where dwarfs often haunt ^^.
The square also hosts Poland’s largest Christmas market in winter.
It is a large scale market like the home of Christmas markets in Germany, and is very lively and fun.
If the time is right, please visit ^^.
About 2 minutes walk from the nearest streetcar station, Olawska.
You can also walk from Wroclaw Central Station (about 20 minutes walk)
Salt Square is right next to the Old Town Square.
Stroll along the Oder River
This is my favorite spot in Wroclaw.
The Cathedral of St. John the Baptist can be seen on the opposite bank.
On fine days, there is even a coffee wagon.
A stroll along the riverside with a great view and a cup of coffee in hand is sure to refresh you.
13 minutes walk from Old Town Square
Cathedral of St. John the Baptist
The cathedral is located across a bridge over the Oder River.
The road leading to the church is very picturesque, as is the interior!
The bridge that one crosses on the way to the cathedral has a large number of padlocks.
Also called the “Bridge of Love,” it is a sacred place where lovers pledge their love and place padlocks on it.
Approximately 20 minutes on foot from the Old Town Square
There is also a way to get there by streetcar, but the time required is almost the same as walking because the stops are far away and the number of trams is limited.
University of Wroclaw
On the way back to the old town from the cathedral, stop by the University of Wroclaw.
Part of the University of Wroclaw, one of the oldest universities in Europe, is a museum, which tourists can also enter.
When I was there, there was a gospel concert going on right in the auditorium, and I was amazed at how gorgeous it was, not unlike a college auditorium!
You can also go up to the rooftop.

6 minutes walk from Old Town Square
Early bird deals! Cheap evening meals at the University of Wroclaw cafeteria
Buffet-style eatery “Lepione Kuźnicza” in front of Wroclaw University
The amount of food is determined by the amount of food you like on your plate.
This cafeteria, where you can enjoy common Polish cuisine, is also the cafeteria of the University of Wroclaw, but is open to the general public.
The best part about this place is that everything is half off after 6pm!
The restaurant closes at 7:00 p.m., so it is not a relaxing place to enjoy a meal, but you can enjoy a taste of Poland at a reasonable price.
Right in front of Wroclaw University.
Six-minute walk from Old Town Square.
Wroclaw Sightseeing Day 2: Cafe Tour & Polish Tableware Shopping
Wroclaw was voted the No. 1 tourist city in Europe in 2018 by a popular European travel website.
Perhaps that is why I have the impression that there are so many tourists from Europe.
Where fashionable Europeans gather, there are fashionable cafes.
So, there are many fashionable cafes in Wroclaw.
If you are tired of searching for dwarves or strolling around town, take a break at a cafe.
How about such a trip?
Recommended Cafe ① Art Cafe Kalambur
A hideaway-style cafe with an artistic atmosphere.
It is a place where you can relax and linger.
It is a self-serve system where you order at the bar counter and pick it up yourself.
Recommended Cafe (2) etno cafe
A chain of cafes originating from Wroclaw.
It is my favorite cafe because the interior is stylish and the drinks are delicious.
There are seven stores in Wroclaw, including one near Wroclaw Central Station.
It has more than a dozen stores in Poland and two in Warsaw.
Shopping at “VENA” Polish tableware store
The last stop on your trip is shopping!
We recommend the factory-owned store of the Polish tableware manufacturer “VENA”.
Oven, microwave, dishwasher all OK
We have an assortment of all-purpose tableware that can be used in ovens, microwave ovens, and dishwashers.
Many of the designs, such as the chili pepper and penguin patterns, are pop designs compared to other Polish tableware ^^.
Conveniently located right in front of the Old Town Square!
summary
We have put together a plan for you to enjoy Wroclaw in 2 days and 1 night.
I’m going to look for the dwarfs and do some sightseeing along the way!”
I think the best part of this city is that you can slowly stroll the streets with such a stance.
I hope this will help you when you visit Wroclaw ^^.
