This time we’re going to introduce you to the cafes around New World Street, just a straight walk south from Warsaw’s Old Town!
Here are 8 of the best cafes and ponchuki stores that Harrii has actually been to!
New World Street area with long-established Warsaw cafes and ponchuki shops.
Just a straight walk south of Warsaw’s Old Town, New World Street (Nowy Świat) is a dining & shopping street that attracts tourists!
There are several long-established Polish cafes and ponchuki (fried doughnut) shops near Shinsegae Street, so be sure to stop by between sightseeing and shopping ^^.
Chmielna Street, which stretches sideways, is also recommended as it has many cafes and restaurants.
Let’s take a look at some of Hariri’s recommended cafes!
All of these are restaurants I have actually been to, so I don’t think the taste and atmosphere will be greatly off the mark ^^.
Stylish bookstore cafe “Wrzenie Świata
A bookstore and cafe. It is more of a café and has a wide variety of beverages.
The store has cute covers and makes you want to buy books as well. All of them are in Polish ^^;

Cukiernia Sowa” with cute owl tableware
A café with cute tableware, this long-established Polish café chain was founded in 1946 and has branches in the U.K. and Germany.
You can relax in the calm atmosphere of the restaurant. It is also nice to know that the tea is “Ronnefeldt,” a high-grade German tea ^^.

Cafe “STOR” where you can drink coffee with care
A cafe right next to the Chopin Museum. The coffee is delicious with a particular taste ^^.

A.Blikle”, a long-established cafe in Poland

Ponchuki is famous for its ponchuki, but I personally didn’t really get into it. I recommend the regular cake.

Recommended No. 1 Ponchuki shop “Stara Pączkarnia”.
Ponchuki shop is Harie’s favorite. The dough is fluffy, chewy and delicious ^^.
The type of Ponchuki varies from day to day. My favorite is cinnamon apple flavor. If you have it ^^.
There is no eat-in space, only take-out.

Popular Ponchuki shop “Cukiernia Pawłowicz
Ponchuki specialty restaurant often featured in guidebooks and on TV. Often there are lines of people waiting in line.
Some types of pączki feel a bit heavy…. If anything, I prefer the Stara Pączkarnia introduced earlier, which is lighter and fluffier.
There is no eat-in space, only take-out.

Why not take a break from sightseeing in Warsaw and take a break at a cafe?
That’s all I have to say about the cafes Harrii recommends!
Compared to the Old Town, the New World Street area still has more cafes for locals. You will feel as if you are living in Warsaw if you take a break at a café among the locals.
It is close to the old town and easy to stop by on the way to sightseeing, so please visit.
